Andrew Wessels
Founder & CEO The Marque
At The Marque, Andrew leads the effort to help clients present themselves in a considered and elegant manner through their Marque Profiles. These profiles serve as a single, reliable source of information about clients, appearing prominently online and fostering a deeper understanding of their professional journey, expertise, and accomplishments. Under Andrew's leadership, The Marque successfully manages the digital profiles of many prominent people around the world who seek to differentiate themselves in the digital space.
Andrew first conceived of the idea for The Marque when, after researching former mentors and colleagues online, he realised that information about individuals is often unorganised, inaccurate and outdated. Seeing a significant gap in the market, he set out to build a digital platform that provides clients with an accurate, current and clearly presented online profile that offers privacy and security from unwanted solicitation.
After leaving behind a first-class cricket career in his native South Africa, Andrew ventured to the UK, working for J.P. Morgan Asset Management in London and Frankfurt, and launched the Wireless Internet Fund for the Carphone Warehouse (later Frontiers Capital). Moving his focus to innovative start-ups, Andrew assisted in the launch of Marquis Jet in Europe (later sold to NetJets) following their launch in the US, and served as CEO of Storm Solutions, a telecommunications business which he successfully exited in 2012.
Sport remains an important part of Andrew's life. He regularly plays tennis, cricket and golf, and has also represented England playing polo
