This marks the ninth investment from our inaugural fund in just under three years. Pickleball has officially reached true mass participation — with U.S. adult players up sixfold since 2019, now numbering in the tens of millions. As the sport continues to scale, Selkirk has emerged as the category-defining platform, setting the standard through world-class, in-house R&D, relentless product innovation, and a brand that resonates with both elite players and everyday consumers. Founded by the Barnes family — Rob, Mike, and Jim — in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Selkirk is one of the premier equipment manufacturers in any sport. Since 2019, the company has delivered 1,900% revenue growth, expanded across retail and DTC, launched Selkirk Pickleball TV, and continued to push the boundaries of performance — from best-in-class paddles to enhanced pickleballs, reimagined footwear, and beyond. This marks Selkirk’s first external investment, a partnership with Bluestone Equity Partners that originated through a founder-initiated, proprietary dialogue focused on finding a collaborative, genuinely value-added partner with relevant industry expertise, a strong global network, and a proven track record.
