Cathrin Petty
Managing Partner CVC
A healthcare investment specialist, Cathrin joined the firm in 2016 with the aim of increasing CVC’s exposure to the healthcare sector.
CVC's Managing Partners aim to generate risk-adjusted returns across multiple sectors, including healthcare. As pressure on global health systems and rapidly changing technology transforms the way people approach healthcare, Cathrin is well-positioned to make the most of these investment opportunities.
During more than 20 years in the European healthcare sector, Cathrin has worked with both governments and corporations and, since joining CVC, she has overseen numerous deals in the sector, including investments in Therakos, Theramex, FutureLife, Rayner, Sebia, Recordati, System C, Graphnet and Medivet.
Prior to CVC, Cathrin worked at J.P. Morgan as Head of Healthcare in the EMEA region. Previously she was a Partner at Apax Partners for more than a decade, served as a Non-Executive Director of Greater London’s Strategic Healthcare Authority, and held positions at Vitruvian Partners and Schroder Ventures/Permira.
Cathrin currently sits on the Boards of Spectrum Medical Group, System C, Recordati, Theramex and Sebia and has held several non-executive positions, including at Intercell, Qualitest and Icon plc. She is chair of CVC’s Inclusion and Diversity Committee.
Away from work, Cathrin sits on the corporate board of Great Ormond Street Hospital, and is a member of Level20’s advisory board and the Lifesciences Advisory Council. An accomplished sportswoman, Cathrin was awarded six Cambridge Blues and represented Wales in both field hockey and tennis.
Cathrin holds a master’s degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University, and a post-graduate diploma in Management Studies from Cambridge Judge Business School.
