Jameel, Fady has led an expansion of the organization’s global programs. Community Jameel’s flagship job creation program, Bab Rizq Jameel, has helped hundreds of thousands of men and women in the Middle East and North Africa find employment. In addition, Community Jameel’s deep and longstanding relationship with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has seen the establishment of the MIT Abdul Latif Jameel Water and Food Systems Lab (J-WAFS); the MIT Abdul Latif Jameel World Education Lab (J-WEL); and the MIT Abdul Latif Jameel Clinic for Machine Learning in Health (J-Clinic).
In October 2019 Community Jameel and Imperial College London co-founded the Abdul Latif Jameel Institute for Disease and Emergency Analytics (J-IDEA), established to combat disease threats globally. In December 2019, Community Jameel’s work in alleviating global poverty was recognized when two of the co-founders of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) were awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences.
Fady is Chairman and Founder of Art Jameel. His passion and appreciation for art has led him to create several successful art initiatives and partnerships, including with the V&A Museum in London and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Art Jameel developed the Jameel Arts Centre in Dubai, which opened in 2018, and Hayy Jameel which opened in Saudi Arabia in 2021
